How to main­tain brain health and sup­port those with de­men­tia will be dis­cussed at a free in­for­ma­tion ses­sion in Ger­ald­ton on Oc­to­ber 11.

De­men­tia Aus­tralia will host the “Let’s talk de­men­tia” ses­sion at The Ger­ald Apart­ment Ho­tel from 10.45am to noon.

Top­ics will in­clude the causes and symp­toms of de­men­tia and look­ing af­ter your brain at any stage of life.

Or­gan­is­ers said the event was suit­able for any­one want­ing to learn more about de­men­tia.

Ac­cord­ing to De­men­tia Aus­tralia, an es­ti­mated 1939 peo­ple in the Fed­eral elec­torate of Du­rack, which takes in Ger­ald­ton, are liv­ing with de­men­tia.
