Offender seeks re­hab stint

A 29-year-old man await­ing sen­tenc­ing on 13 charges, in­clud­ing two counts of com­mon as­sault, has briefly ap­peared in Ger­ald­ton Mag­is­trate’s Court.

Joshua Adam Daw­son ap­peared via video link from Gree­nough Re­gional Prison on Mon­day, hav­ing pleaded guilty to all 13 charges at an ear­lier date.

Among the charges are three counts of giv­ing false per­sonal de­tails to po­lice, two counts of es­cap­ing law­ful cus­tody and one count of ob­scene acts in pub­lic.

The of­fences oc­curred at var­i­ous times in Man­durah, Green­fields, Wel­lard, Spald­ing, May­lands and Perth, dat­ing back to March 15, 2017.

The court was told Daw­son wanted to go to re­hab and had re­ceived a re­fer­ral to Hope Com­mu­nity Ser­vices’ Rosella House.

He will reap­pear in the same court later this month.
