Offender seeks rehab stint
A 29-year-old man awaiting sentencing on 13 charges, including two counts of common assault, has briefly appeared in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court.
Joshua Adam Dawson appeared via video link from Greenough Regional Prison on Monday, having pleaded guilty to all 13 charges at an earlier date.
Among the charges are three counts of giving false personal details to police, two counts of escaping lawful custody and one count of obscene acts in public.
The offences occurred at various times in Mandurah, Greenfields, Wellard, Spalding, Maylands and Perth, dating back to March 15, 2017.
The court was told Dawson wanted to go to rehab and had received a referral to Hope Community Services’ Rosella House.
He will reappear in the same court later this month.
