PERFECT PAINT

Dulux’s Andrea Lucena-Orr offers her top tips on choosing the right paint colours for your home:

Colour is such a personal choice so you should always make your own colour decisions. There is so much emotion connected with colour and each person has their own colour memory.

We highly recommend using A4 swatches and Dulux sample pots to trial colours. Don’t test your sample pot directly on the wall — paint onto cardboard so you can move it around your home and see the colours under different lighting conditions, furniture and accessories.

Keep samples up for three to four days to ensure you’re happy.

Undertones play a huge part when selecting whites and neutrals for your kitchen or bathroom. Ensure you view samples of tiles, cabinets, laminates, benchtops, stone and flooring, so you can ensure the right undertone is selected.

Select fixtures and fittings first, as these are often limited with undertones.
