Family & friends

Girlfriend - - GF GOALS -

My older sister told me she might be bisexual and came out to my parents. My dad isn’t pleased. How do I get her to open up to me because I really want to help?

Wow! It says a lot about you as a person that your sister chose to discuss her emerging sexuality with you. She has trusted you with a significant and highly personal piece of information. It may take time for your father to adjust but in the meantime, there is nothing to stop you from being a safe place for her to talk about bisexuality. You may also be able to help your father by introducing him to the organisation PFLAG, for parents, family and friends who are drawn together because someone they know or love is GLBTIQ. Its website is pflagaustralia.org.au
