I’m 17 and I have this white/clear stuff coming from my right boob, and it’s been happening since early last year. My boob doesn’t hurt and I’m not pregnant, but I’m really scared. What could it be?
Although any discharge (particularly if there is blood present) needs proper diagnosis, I think in this instance you can probably relax. One of the most common reasons for ongoing milky discharge from a non-lactating breast is continued stimulation (squeezing) of the nipple. It’s a normal response from a breast. Often girls tell me they were just checking to see if it had stopped, not knowing that the action kept it going. D’oh! Hormone issues can cause nipple discharge, but I would expect both breasts to be involved. If it doesn’t settle with some ‘hands off’ treatment, please get it checked by your doctor.
