HOW DID YOUR ROLE IN SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING COME ABOUT?

This was one of those parts that came up and immediately I was very passionate about it – I was like, “I really wanna be a part of this.” And I happened to get the role!

YOUR CHARACTER MICHELLE HAS BEEN SHROUDED IN MYSTERY. WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT HER?

She’s very honest and straight to the point about how she feels about things and people. She’s quiet and keeps to herself, but also very opinionated and doesn’t mind saying that awkward thing that everybody might be thinking. I think that’s what makes her really cool – you can tell she’s smart and she’s definitely weird.

But weird is good.

ARE THERE ARE ANY SIMILARITIES BETWEEN YOU AND MICHELLE?

I feel like my character is who I am on the inside. But I don’t outwardly say it or do it, which is what she does!

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH TOM HOLLAND?

It was awesome. He’s a really great dude and all of us as a cast immediately got along, it wasn’t forced. Right away we were planning things and hanging out, and Tom was a really big part of that. Him being a positive guy and a great person definitely rubbed off on everybody else. WE SAW THE VIDEOS OF YOU GUYS HIP-HOP DANCING TOGETHER. WERE THERE MANY ON-SET ANTICS? Yeah! We made each other laugh a lot. There was a lot of joking around and inside jokes that we made with each other – it was a blast. Part of it really felt like going to summer camp.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN DOING MORE BLOCKBUSTERS? WE CAN SO SEE YOU AS AN ACTION HERO!

I enjoy watching action movies and I’ve never done one but why not? That’d be awesome. It’s good to see girls kick butt!

WHO IS YOUR REAL-LIFE SUPERHERO?

The women in my life are my superheroes – my mum and my older sister. Just by being able to multitask – to raise kids and have a career. That is a superhero if I’ve ever heard of one. Mums are superheroes!

YOU’RE KNOWN TO BE AN ACTIVIST ESPECIALLY ON THE TOPICS OF GENDER EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO YOU TO BE VOCAL ON THESE ISSUES?

I think when you have a certain position of power or where people listen to you, or you have followers, you have a responsibility to do the right thing. I guess you could say to use it for more than just a selfish benefit. I try my best to use what I’ve been given as a platform to only do better things.

YOU DO SO MUCH! DO YOU EVER HAVE DAYS WHERE YOU JUST SIT AT HOME AND WATCH NETFLIX AND EAT PIZZA LIKE THE REST OF US?

Absolutely, that was today! Recently, I keep getting sick because I’ve been working so much, and every time I need to take a break and heal I have to work.

So I finally have a little time off and literally I’m just going to eat. I randomly got some Sudoku puzzles, crosswords and colouring books to relax.

ONTO YOUR STYLE… YOU HAVE AN AMAZING RANGE OF LOOKS. WHAT‘S ONE OF YOUR FAVES?

That’s a very hard decision to make just because I’ve tried every look you could possibly imagine. I mean, once you’ve worn a mullet to the Grammys, you’ve pretty much done it all. I just love experimenting and seeing where it takes me.

WHAT’S YOUR BEST BEAUTY TIP?

The best beauty tip I can tell anybody is that you’re not gonna be a professional makeup artist overnight. It took me a long time to figure out how to do makeup and how I like it. So watch YouTube videos and practise – it’ll happen.

WE’RE OBSESSED WITH YOUR BROWS! WHAT’S YOUR SECRET?

Not to tweeze them and go crazy. Put the tweezers down, OK? Let your eyebrows grow in the way that they’re supposed to. All you need is to clean it up – it’s like getting a trim. You don’t need to fix or change them.

YOU POST A LOT OF FUN BEHINDTHE-SCENES VIDEOS ON YOUR APP AND SOCIALS. WHY ARE YOU KEEN TO SHARE SO MUCH WITH FANS?

With my app I’m able to control the content and what people see, and the message I send. I want people to know me for who I am and have that chance to be connected to them. It’s much easier when it can come straight from you.

HAVE YOU GOT ANY PLANS TO VISIT AUSTRALIA?

I haven’t been before, but I really want to. My uncle lives out there and has for most of my life, so I’d love to visit. Hopefully, with my travel for promotions and all the things happening for me in the next year, I’ll be able to come out that way.
