TIPS FROM THE TOUR

Winter is fast approaching and represents the perfect opportunity to work on your game. So let players like Adam Scott, Justin Rose and Jason Day fast track your improvement.

The correct fundamentals are at the core of every great swing – grip, alignment and posture. Anyone can get these right because there’s no movement involved. From a good starting position, you give yourself the best chance you can to make a good swing. If you’re out of position at address, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to make the swing or hit the shot that you want. When it comes to the swing, I like to focus on two thoughts. The first is to make a good takeaway that sets the club on a neutral plane. After this, all I think about is getting to a good finish position. Start and finish well and impact takes care of itself.
