Training at around 50 to 60 per cent of your maximum heart rate is enough to contribute to improved blood circulation and blood pressure; it will help reduce cholesterol; and have a positive impact on emotional health as it reduces stress. It won’t, however, have a huge impact on fat loss. If this is your goal, you need to work in a higher heart rate zone for significant fat oxidation to occur.
