If you circled mainly ● You are the rock
You’re the achiever of the family – organised, and successful. You’re a doer and a forward-thinker. You’re often the firstborn, who was given responsibility for younger siblings. You are the one who plans family events or puts effort into making them special. As a child, you thrived on approval from parents and, as an adult, you may have transferred that need to your boss, which can make you a conscientious employee.
How it holds you back: It seems as if your siblings get all the attention, while you quietly get on with life. It would be nice if people ask how you are, rather than assume your life is problem-free. You can feel taken for granted. You may be prone to anxiety, fuelled by your need for approval, and can be sensitive to criticism.
Losing the label:
Conscientiousness is a trait that gets you far, but there’s a fine line between that and perfectionism, which can make you feel overwhelmed. If you’re about to accept more responsibility but your heart sinks, try a ‘soft no’, namely, ‘I’ll think about it.’ Ask yourself who else could take responsibility – and use your organisational skills to get them involved. >
