RABAT, MOROCCO

Good Health (Australia) - - Well Travelled -

This mega fest claims an attendance of 2.5 million, making it the biggest of any African music event, and one of the world’s largest.

Spread over nine days and presenting more than 1000 artists, with the sounds of Morocco with Black African beats and offerings from the rest of the world, plus a smattering of superstars.

Solo artists dominate the program rather than bands, and the big draw is the chance to experience the spicy flavours of Islamic and sub-saharan African music.

The 2017 program featured Anoushka Shankar, Charles Aznavour, American rapper Lauryn Hill, Baghdad’s Mohammed Al Salem and Syrian Hussein El Deek. festivalmawazine.ma
