Mind Over matter

Good Health (Australia) - - Be Informed - – Judith Caine

I was very interested to read ‘Should You Try Homeopathy?’ (September, 2017). When it comes to medicines and treatment I like to keep an open mind. And while I’ve always relied on traditional medical care when it comes to my health (and that of my family) I also believe that there’s a place for alternative treatments. I strongly believe one should seek a correct diagnosis of any health issue from a registered, accredited medical practitioner before deciding on any form of treatment, but in some cases it may be beneficial to combine traditional and alternative treatments, providing both ‘treating’ parties are informed of the others’ involvement.

After reading this article it’s clear that even the experts remain divided on this issue and that makes it difficult and confusing for the average person when it comes to deciding on the best healthcare. However, there is one thing that remains a powerful treatment in both camps, and that’s the power of the mind. Whether it’s called the ‘placebo effect’ or something else, the power of positive thinking cannot be underestimated. Thank you for this informative, thought-provoking article.
