BACK TO BASICS
We lead such busy lives that it can be easy to let certain things go. A survey of more than 10,000 Australian women found that 60 per cent of us don’t meet the recommended 2.5 hours of physical activity a week because we’re too tired or just can’t find the time. The real problem, according to survey director Dr Helen Brown, is that we think being active means going for a 10km run or slogging it out at the gym.
Her advice? Go back to the basics. “Physical activity is not about that; it’s just making sure you’re active throughout the day, like using the stairs instead of the lift,” she says.
