CHECK YOUR ZINC
For boosting immunity, zinc is No 1. If you’re susceptible to colds and flu, zinc deficiency could be to blame. A GP can check your levels with a blood test, but in the meantime start to eat lots of zinc-rich foods like spinach, pumpkin seeds, nuts, beef, lamb and oysters, and you’ll get plenty through diet alone. If you want to take a supplement and you’re already supplementing with iron, avoid taking it at the same time as zinc because they compete for absorption.
