AAlthough some peo­ple say high doses of an­tiox­i­dants like vi­ta­min E and beta-carotene may help pre­vent the de­vel­op­ment of cataracts, clin­i­cal tri­als have found no ben­e­fits. Whereas long-term, high doses of vi­ta­min C have been found to in­crease the risk of cataracts! So, un­less you need vi­ta­min sup­ple­ments for a med­i­cal rea­son, you may be bet­ter off get­ting most of your nu­tri­tion from food in­stead of from sup­ple­ments.
