Golden years

Good Health (Australia) - - Be Informed -

Forty may be the new thirty, but when it comes to peak self-esteem, 60 is the golden number. A review published in the journal Psychological Bulletin looked at 300 previously published studies on self-esteem and found that it increased consistently – with a brief plateau in the often awkward years of early adolescence – until it reached the highest point at 60. Seniors can expect to enjoy peak selfesteem throughout their 60s, before it declines slightly in a person’s 70s and 80s, then drops a little more sharply from 90 onwards.
