I’m worried that I might have an iron deficiency. Should I just start taking a supplement?

AIf you have an iron deficiency it’s important to get it checked out by a doctor and dietitian, otherwise you’re just putting a Band-aid on the situation without treating the root cause. Your doctor needs to identify that there’s not a medical condition such as coeliac disease causing your iron deficiency. Your dietitian can review your diet to ensure that you are eating enough iron to prevent further deficiencies.
