A study pub­lished in Mayo Clinic Pro­ceed­ings found ten­nis, bad­minton and soc­cer were bet­ter for longevity than cy­cling, swim­ming, jog­ging or gym ex­er­cise. Ten­nis was es­pe­cially good, adding al­most 10 years to the life­span – com­pared to those who were seden­tary – while the gym only gave one and a half years of ex­tra life.
