Volvo Cars’ Chinese plant moves to 100 per cent renewable power
All manufacturing of vehicles at Volvo Cars’ largest plant in China will now be powered by 100 per cent solar, wind or hydroelectric power as the company moves to reduce CO2 emissions by 11,000 tonnes per annum. Under a new supply contract, around 65 per cent of the electricity supply will come from hydropower, while the remainder comes from solar power, wind power and other renewable sources.
