Volvo Cars’ Chinese plant moves to 100 per cent renewable power

All manufactur­ing of vehicles at Volvo Cars’ largest plant in China will now be powered by 100 per cent solar, wind or hydroelect­ric power as the company moves to reduce CO2 emissions by 11,000 tonnes per annum. Under a new supply contract, around 65 per cent of the electricit­y supply will come from hydropower, while the remainder comes from solar power, wind power and other renewable sources.
