EVE HEWSON

You might have spotted the talented Irish actress in Steven Spielberg’s latest flm, Bridge of Spies, where she excels as Tom Hanks’ daughter. Not that having a famous parent is a stretch for the 24-year-old – her actual father being Paul Hewson, who also goes by the name Bono. What’s that, nepotism in Hollywood? We were shocked too. But hold fre before dismissing Hewson’s acting credits as purely another rich kid passing time before the trust fund kicks in. Hitting screens late last month, Bridge of Spies has been wellreceived by critics. With a script courtesy of the Coen brothers, it tells the true story of an American U-2 pilot (seriously) who’s shot down over Russia, and the ensuing negotiation to secure his release. Hewson is also co-starring alongside Clive Owen in the second season of Steven Soderbergh’s TV series The Knick. And if the frst season is anything to go by, she’ll again be a standout performer. “It freaks me out,” she’s said, when faced with her own impending super-fame. “I’m going to have to start behaving in public.” The Knick season two is airing on Showcase now
