Is Australia racist?

GQ (Australia) - - NEWS -

When an Indigenous player dared to celebrate a goal with an Indigenous dance during an Indigenous footy game during the Indigenous round, it pulled back the scab on a wound that seems far from healing. The booing AFL champion Adam Goodes endured was shameful. But not as shameful as the insistence of many – best represented by Miranda Devine, Andrew Bolt and Alan Jones – that such treatment was part of the game. Australia has an underlying problem with race. Fact. Just ask broadcaster Waleed Aly, whom The Age (he works there) confused with comedian Nazeem Hussain. You know, the other brown one.

THE GQ INSIGHT: Australian multiculturalism is a sheer cloth worn over a hooded white vestment – go on, name an Aboriginal mate or colleague?
