MARKET EDITOR

Harding joined us in October and hasn’t had a moment’s rest since. In this issue, head to Outfitter (p65) to find all the back-to-work style tips you need. Now Harding, back to it.

THREE WARDROBE STAPLES EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN?

Polished shoes, a well-cut versatile blazer and a sophisticated watch. I’m also a firm believer in a signature scent.

AND HOW BEST DO WE COPE WITH THE HOT WEATHER?

Breathability is a top priority. Pay attention to the fabrication tag and always go for natural fibres over man-made. A good rule is to steer clear of anything you struggle to pronounce.

FAVOURITE FASHION LABELS?

Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior Homme. The craftsmanship behind the Vuitton fit is unrivalled and Alessandro Michele’s contribution to Gucci has so far been phenomenal.

WE’RE IN EXCITING TIMES FOR MEN’S STYLE. WHAT DO YOU THINK HAS CHANGED?

The booming e-commerce industry has opened up a lot of (wardrobe) doors and there’s now unlimited access to so many international labels and channels of inspiration – leaving no excuse for mediocrity.

ANY TIPS FOR GETTING INTO THE FASHION INDUSTRY?

It’s a lot of hours and hard work. Become a ‘yes person’ and always remain professional. My best advice for interns is to treat every day like a job interview.
