“I do what’s known as a dy­namic warm-up – which is about get­ting the body ready for the move­ments I’ll be do­ing in a train­ing ses­sion and where, in­stead of stand­ing there stretch­ing mus­cles, you’re ac­tu­ally do­ing that while mov­ing. “Start­ing at 50 per cent pace, do 20m runs that in­cor­po­rate touch­ing the ground – this pre­pares me for bend­ing down and get­ting the footy – and sev­eral jumps with arms out­stretched, reach­ing up, which pre­pares for mark­ing. “Build th­ese up in 10 per cent in­cre­ments un­til you get to 100 per cent pace. Have a quick stretch, then start over.”
