Silicon Valley is back – as is GOT; kinky kit for the bedroom; the best drone in the sky; Hannah Davis; Angry Birds the Movie – yes, that’s a real thing.
As we see it – knocking balls competitively over a net is a pursuit worth, well, pursuing. Two reasons for this. It’s healthy (at least until ‘fourth set’ beers in the clubhouse), and because you never know who you may come up against. And by that we mean Hannah Davis – the much-hyped Sports Illustrated model. It’s not that 25-year-old Davis personally courted controversy – though her risqué 2015 cover reveal was just that, a downstairs peek-aboo moment that left little to the imagination. The usual conservatives likened the pose to pornography – while Funny Or Die did what they do best through a faux interview with the barely-there bikini-wearer (sample made-up quote: “I think the main reason I got the cover is because in my photo I made it look like I’m about to show you my pussy”). In reality, Davis laughed off the backlash. “They’re saying it’s pornographic, I’m laughing at it because it’s a Swimsuit issue… If you don’t want to see girls in bikinis go pick up another magazine. I don’t know what to tell you.” She then became engaged to former pro-baseballer Derek Jeter, giving hope for average-looking bald men across the globe, should they too be worth millions. We return to the tennis. Born and raised in the Virgin Islands (apparently people live there full-time), Davis was a junior-ranked US player throughout her youth. Until being scouted. “I started modelling to buy racquets,” she’s said, “and it kinda grew from there.” We’re thinking she’s OK for such these days. Still, anyone for a hit?
