FASHION ASSOCIATE

Gardner has been working like a machine since she first started at GQ last September. Still, all in the name of fashion, right?

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT WORKING AT GQ?

Being able to work with people who genuinely love their job and who you can constantly learn from. There is never a lack of support or encouragement from those around you.

NICE. AND WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW DAYLIGHT?

My old friend, daylight. I’ve stopped counting the days since we last saw each other. Still, all who work in fashion must make sacrifices.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE TRYING TO GET INTO FASHION?

Set yourself goals that will see you take progressive steps to achieving what it is you want from the industry. There’ll be testing moments and experiences, but determination overcomes all.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS?

Hopefully as someone who has a stronger awareness and confidence of my personal and creative style, which shall ideally see my industry presence develop and grow. I also hope to be treating myself to daylight more often.

AND WHO ARE YOUR FAVOURITE MENSWEAR DESIGNERS RIGHT NOW?

Jil Sander, Corneliani and Marni. I love the contemporary approach they are taking on men’s tailoring this season.
