Ah, Melbourne – the food, the (right) footy and now home to Scorsese. Sort of. Starting next month at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is a detailed dive into the mind and work of one of cinema’s most prolific filmmakers – Martin Scorsese. The mastermind of too many films to mention (OK, we’ll go with Mean Streets, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, The Wolf of Wall Street – in that order), he’s also EP of our recent smallscreen indulgence, Vinyl. The new show, ingeniously titled Scorsese, will feature more than 600 personal objects (notes, costumes, stills, storyboards) and a heady selection of footage from the 60-plus titles the 73-year-old’s worked on since making his debut with the short, Vesuvius VI, in 1959.
