TREVOR STONES

FASHION DIRECTOR AT LARGE

Stones has been a busy man this month, jetting off to LA to style Joel Edgerton for our cover shoot (p140), before heading back here for his fashion story on the new Burberry collection (p170).

YOU’VE WORKED WITH A LOT OF BIG NAMES IN YOUR TIME. WHO HAVE BEEN SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITES?

Hugh Jackman has to be my favourite celebrity to work with so far. But following closely behind him would be Rosie Huntington-whiteley, the ultimate woman.

HOW DID YOUR BURBERRY STORY GO?

I used my favourite Australian model ever, Lucas Satherley. Having him on set always makes for an amazing day and my stress levels lower instantly as soon as I know he’s confirmed for a shoot.

WHO ARE MORE FUN – MODELS OR CELEBS?

I love both for many different reasons. Models wear what I want them to, without resistance – and celebrities are wrangled to wear what I want them to, with resistance.

BESIDES HONING THEIR WRANGLING SKILLS, WHAT POINTERS DO YOU HAVE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GET INTO STYLING?

Do your time – assist, assist, assist. Also, understand from the start that this job is about responsibility, not just about trouser and skirt lengths.
