DOUG INGLISH

GQ (Australia) - - INSIDE GQ -

PHOTOGRAPHER

La-based Inglish handled two of our Men of the Year cover stories. First, he shot our outrageously stylish International Man of the Decade, Jon Hamm (p178), and was then kind enough to jet over to Byron Bay for a weekend, to capture GQ’S 2016 Man of the Year, Mr Chris Hemsworth (p128).

SOUNDS LIKE YOU’VE BEEN A BUSY MAN. HOW DID IT ALL GO?

There’s nothing like flying to the other side of the world for less than 48 hours. Fortunately, working with Chris Hemsworth was the icing on the cake. It made all the travel worth it.

AND JON HAMM?

It was my first time working with Jon and I’d heard through the grapevine that he was a pleasure to work with. It’s true.

WAS IT NICE TO CAPTURE A MORE RELAXED SIDE OF HIM?

Not only is he a brilliant actor but also a gifted comedian. I was delighted that he showed his sense of humour.

BESIDES JON AND CHRIS, WHO HAVE BEEN SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE PEOPLE TO SHOOT OVER THE YEARS?

That’s tough. Bella Hadid is so much fun and, of course, incredibly sexy; and Juliette Lewis just blew my mind.

ANY YOU WEREN’T SO KEEN ON?

If I told you I would have to kill you.

AH, OK. YOU’RE @DOUGINGLISH ON INSTAGRAM – WHO ELSE IS WORTH A FOLLOW?

@luisvenegas, who is a dear friend and a wonderful artist; @larsfredriksvedberg, an accomplished artist with an incredible resource of inspirational images; and @thriftstoreart – the name says it all.
