AT A RECENT JOB INTERVIEW THEY ASKED ME ABOUT STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. WHAT ARE YOU MEANT TO SAY? PAUL, VIA EMAIL

GQ (Australia) - - THESOURCE -

Strengths are easy to talk about. But keep things focused on concrete achievements, such as reducing costs by a third or exceeding sales targets by 20 per cent. The trick with weaknesses is to turn it around by showing how you’ve worked to improve in any problem areas – times you’ve sought advice from superiors, or training courses you’ve undertaken. You’ll have the job in no time.
