MADISON VOLOSHIN

GQ (Australia) - - GENTLEMEN'S QUARTERLY -

What’s the cut of the winter season?

Usually I’d say most men would be growing their hair in winter, but this year short cropped cuts seem to be in. A short taper on the sides and back with just enough on the top to mess around.

What is the key to a good head of hair?

A good haircut and a little bit of effort when styling. It’s important to know what suits you and to have a stylist that you trust, as well as collaborate with, to get the best out of your hair.

Do you have any male hair icons?

I have a few. It’s hard to take inspiration from just one guy’s hair, because there are so many different styles out there. The standard is always Beckham. Then I hate to say it but Bieber. You have Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy, Alex Turner, Drake. They all have something different and like to change it up, keeping their hair interesting.

How many times should you wash your hair a week?

Most men don’t ever really wash their hair, usually because they hate having fluffy, clean locks. That’s not the best for your scalp. I’d say at least once a week if not twice, to ensure that your scalp can breathe. Washing it at night lets it settle a bit grittier for the next day.

Must-have grooming tools?

It’s 2017, every guy should have a hair dryer!
