Artist’s view of hotel and cafe

Dome Cafe Group has released an artist’s impression of what it hopes the row of shops next to the Premier Flour Mill will look like once the multimillion-dollar project is complete.

Work on the 22-room boutique accommodation and cafe-restaurant in Katanning began in March, 2016 and is set for completion later this year.

Nigel Oakey, of Dome Cafe Group, told the Great Southern Herald last year although the cafe on the ground level would be Dome-branded, the accommodation side of the project would be branded as Premier Flour Mill, as it was when the original building was opened in 1891.

The hotel and cafe will feature touch-screen technology in the building so visitors can learn the history and stories of the building, and be informed of sites and attractions in the Great Southern.

Mr Oakey said Katanning was the perfect central hub for visitors.
