Nom­i­nate peo­ple for Roe re­gion achieve­ment

Nom­i­na­tions have opened for the 2017 WA Re­gional Achieve­ment and Com­mu­nity Awards and Mem­ber for Roe Peter Run­dle is en­cour­ag­ing all lo­cals to be­come in­volved.

Mr Run­dle said the awards aimed to en­cour­age and ac­knowl­edge valu­able con­tri­bu­tions made to re­gional Aus­tralia by both in­di­vid­u­als and groups.

“It is vi­tally im­por­tant that we recog­nise and cel­e­brate ex­cel­lence across re­gional WA,” he said.

“I en­cour­age in­di­vid­u­als, com­mu­nity groups, busi­nesses and or­gan­i­sa­tions who are pas­sion­ate about their com­mu­nity and who are mak­ing a dif­fer­ence in Roe to sub­mit their nom­i­na­tions be­fore the close of nom­i­na­tions on July 26.”

Na­tion­als WA spokes­woman for re­gional de­vel­op­ment, Mia Davies MLA, said the awards recog­nised lo­cally driven projects that would en­sure re­gional com­mu­ni­ties con­tin­ued to grow.

“We have some in­cred­i­bly ded­i­cated and in­spi­ra­tional in­di­vid­u­als, com­mu­nity mem­bers and busi­ness own­ers span­ning the width and breadth of re­gional WA,” she said. “The 2017 WA Re­gional Achieve­ment and Com­mu­nity Awards are an op­por­tu­nity to cel­e­brate their con­tri­bu­tion to com­mu­nity and pave the way for fu­ture com­mu­nity-minded in­di­vid­u­als to fol­low suit.”

Nom­i­na­tions close on July 26 with judg­ing tak­ing place in Au­gust.
