Tam­bellup ce­ment their top po­si­tion

Tam­bellup have strength­ened their po­si­tion at the top of the Women’s Cen­tral Great South­ern Hockey As­so­ci­a­tion com­pe­ti­tion lad­der with an em­phatic win over Broome­hill at the week­end.

Woodanilling hosted round four of the CGSHA, where women’s com­pe­ti­tion lead­ers Tam­bellup downed Broome­hill 7-0 in a onesided af­fair. Rachel Web­ster and Amy Simp­son were mul­ti­ple goal scor­ers for the un­de­feated Tam­bellup team, as mate Kylie Sadler picked up best on ground. Jo Tay­lor was Broome­hill’s best.

Ko­jonup beat Woodanilling, 4-1, to make sec­ond on the lad­der their own hav­ing won three of their first four games. Lisa Thomas slot­ted two goals for Ko­jonup in a best-on­ground per­for­mance, while team­mates Paula Hard­ing­ham and Kate Fleay each scored one goal.

Penny Shack­ley was the lone goal scorer for Woodanilling.

In the fi­nal women’s match of the day, Katan­ning kept their sea­son alive with a 3-1 win over the Young Guns.

Best on ground Cat Marciniak, with Donna Woithe and Lau­ren Court­ney, scored Katan­ning’s goals, while Leah Hard­ing­ham was best for Young Guns.

Katan­ning sit in fourth place on the lad­der be­low Woodanilling.
