Tambellup cement their top position
Tambellup have strengthened their position at the top of the Women’s Central Great Southern Hockey Association competition ladder with an emphatic win over Broomehill at the weekend.
Woodanilling hosted round four of the CGSHA, where women’s competition leaders Tambellup downed Broomehill 7-0 in a onesided affair. Rachel Webster and Amy Simpson were multiple goal scorers for the undefeated Tambellup team, as mate Kylie Sadler picked up best on ground. Jo Taylor was Broomehill’s best.
Kojonup beat Woodanilling, 4-1, to make second on the ladder their own having won three of their first four games. Lisa Thomas slotted two goals for Kojonup in a best-onground performance, while teammates Paula Hardingham and Kate Fleay each scored one goal.
Penny Shackley was the lone goal scorer for Woodanilling.
In the final women’s match of the day, Katanning kept their season alive with a 3-1 win over the Young Guns.
Best on ground Cat Marciniak, with Donna Woithe and Lauren Courtney, scored Katanning’s goals, while Leah Hardingham was best for Young Guns.
Katanning sit in fourth place on the ladder below Woodanilling.
