WACFL life membership conferred on Butterworth
Former general manager of the Upper Great Southern Football Association Barry Butterworth was awarded a WACFL life membership before the start of this year’s Landmark Country Football Championships.
Mr Butterworth was the general manager of the UGSFL from 2001 to 2014 and was nominated for the life membership for his extensive services to country football.
He was elected to the WACFL board in 2005 and served as an executive member until 2015.
Butterworth is now chairman of the Peel Football and Netball League, a role he took on after relocating to Ravenswood.
He has been a long-time supporter of the Great Southern Colts Carnival and had a strong role in the production of the history book A Way of Life.
Mr Butterworth was given his life membership badge at the Landmark launch function, where he was interviewed by former Fremantle Dockers player Peter Bell.
