Stu­dents shine at as­so­ci­a­tion comp

The Stingrays have taken out the Up­per Great South­ern Hockey As­so­ci­a­tion Lower School com­pe­ti­tion in an ex­cit­ing fin­ish.

The com­pe­ti­tion is for Years 3 to 6, with the Stingrays clinch­ing the ti­tle with a win in their fi­nal game.

The as­so­ci­a­tion’s most valu­able play­ers for each team were awarded and the over­all as­so­ci­a­tion awards went to Kan­dra Pense and Fletcher West.

All coaches, man­agers, um­pires and es­pe­cially play­ers were thanked for their ef­forts through­out the sea­son.

In the se­nior com­pe­ti­tion, the Ed­wards Holden men’s and women’s B-grade semi­fi­nals will be played this Satur­day af­ter­noon.

The com­pe­ti­tion results changed the make-up of the fi­nal four, with Wa­gin de­feat­ing Riffs three goals to two and All Blacks de­feat­ing Wil­liams four goals to one.

The women War­riors de­feated Wil­liams four goals to nil and Brook­ton de­feated Wa­gin two goals to nil.

Up­per Great South­ern Hockey As­so­ci­a­tion’s lower school sea­son has been wrapped up, and the most valu­able play­ers in the com­pe­ti­tion and for each team, pic­tured above, an­nounced.

The Stingrays won the UGSHA Lower School com­pe­ti­tion.
