Fi­nals glory at­tained

The Cen­tral Great South­ern Hockey As­so­ci­a­tion grand fi­nals were held in Woodanilling on Satur­day, Septem­ber 16, with all six teams per­form­ing well de­spite the un­usual win­ter heat.

The ju­niors game saw Woodanilling de­feat Katan­ning 4-1; how­ever, Katan­ning’s Bray­den Ke­ley was too good tak­ing out best on ground.

The as­so­ci­a­tion fairest and best award went to Shaun Shack­ley of Woodanilling with runner-up awarded to Jake Ed­nie-Brown from Ko­jonup.

The Woodanilling women’s team broke a 12-year drought after win­ning the grand fi­nal against Tam­bellup 2-0. Tam­bellup’s Jess McPart­land was named best on ground.

The women’s fairest and best re­sulted in a tie be­tween Kiara Flynn from Woodanilling and Tam­bellup’s Tara Simp­son.

The men’s grand fi­nal was dom­i­nated by Tam­bellup, de­feat­ing Woodanilling 2-0. Best on ground went to Tam­bellup’s Leon Squibb.

Katan­ning’s Zac Hat­field won the fairest and best of the as­so­ci­a­tion.
