Wet weather calls off speedway
Wet weather forced the Katanning Speedway Club to reschedule an event that was to take place on Saturday, September 30.
“The club made a decision based on the weather, to postpone the event as the track (was) too wet to work with,” marketing and PR officer Travis Menghini said.
Katanning Speedway Club president Darren Blight said the track needed ongoing work and was difficult to maintain in wet weather.
“The track was too wet to prepare to get it to a sufficient level for competition,” he said.
The speedway event, which was expected to attract 300-400 spectators, has been postponed until November 18.
