Loads of fun for the whole fam­ily

We have picked out some of the must-see and must-do events at this year’s Al­bany Agri­cul­tural Show, which starts to­mor­row and runs un­til Satur­day.

1. New venue

The Cen­ten­nial Sta­dium and agri­cul­ture pavil­ions are a stun­ning ad­di­tion to Al­bany and will bring a new at­mos­phere to the event.

2. An­i­mals and com­pe­ti­tions

The an­i­mals will be head­lined by the largest al­paca com­pe­ti­tion in WA. This sec­tion is al­ways a hit with rev­ellers of all ages.

3. Sheep dog tri­als

Tri­als will be held in Cen­ten­nial Sta­dium — the ideal place to view the dogs at work.

4. Fire­works

The sky above Al­bany will be lit up on Fri­day night for a fire­works spec­tac­u­lar. A must-see!

5. Sideshow al­ley

Show­bags and rides will be set up near Lock­yer Av­enue.

6. Cook­ing demon­stra­tions

Den­mark lo­cal and celebrity chef Anna Gare will run a num­ber

of cook­ing demon­stra­tions that will get the crowd’s taste buds flow­ing.

7. Town ‘N’ Coun­try ute muster

Judg­ing starts Satur­day morn­ing with tro­phy pre­sen­ta­tions at 2pm, fol­lowed by a thrilling whip-crack­ing com­pe­ti­tion that will have pulses rac­ing.

8. Pho­tog­ra­phy

Great South­ern pho­tog­ra­phers have sub­mit­ted a range of works for com­pe­ti­tion cat­e­gories that in­clude land­scape, seascape, wild­flower study, ac­tion, por­trait and an­i­mal.
