Model planes star at WestJet

WestJet will be head­ing to Wa­gin to­mor­row, Satur­day and Sun­day as hun­dreds are ex­pected to fly and drive to the Wa­gin air strip for three days of model jet ac­tion.

One of the mod­els on dis­play will be a Boe­ing 747-500 and an Air­bus A380 is also ex­pected to be show­ing. Wa­gin Aero Club are strong sup­port­ers of the event, and are keep­ing the air­field open to en­cour­age vis­i­tors to ar­rive by air.

WestJet is a group that pro­motes RC jet mod­el­ling in WA and hosts events all over the re­gion.

They last vis­ited Wa­gin in Septem­ber for the Great South­ern Jet Rally which was a huge suc­cess.

Main ac­tion will be from 10am Satur­day and Sun­day at the Wa­gin air strip.

En­try is free and all are en­cour­aged to at­tend.

An­drew Herzfeld with his RC model Boe­ing 747-500, which is the largest jet pow­ered model plane in the world, will be part of the Wa­gin show.
