Guardian Express - - NEWS -

Start developing your child’s literacy skills by taking them to weekly Baby Rhymetime or Preschool Storytime session at City libraries. Karrinyup Library holds Baby Rhymetime on Wednesdays at 10.30am and Preschool Storytime on Thursdays at 10.30am. All six Stirling libraries offer these free sessions on various weekdays.

In addition, all City libraries host Songs & Stories sessions on Saturdays from 10.00am for parents unable to visit their local library on weekdays. Saturday Songs & Stories is great for children up to five years of age.

Baby Rhymetime and Storytime sessions are run in conjunction with the Better Beginnings (BB) literacy program. In the program, child health nurses distribute BB bags to every child born in WA. The bags contain a book for youngsters and information for parents about the benefits of reading to children.

Visit www.stirbraries for details about session times at your local library.
