YOUNG filmmakers will have a chance to have their first documen-tary funded through the 2017 City of Vincent Film Project.

The City of Vincent and Revela-tion Perth International Film Festival have teamed up to provide filmmak-ers with $15,000 to fund three short documentaries.

Ashleigh Nicolau’s idea two years ago was to break a world record for the most number of peo-ple named Vin-cent gathered in Vincent; she now co-ordinates this pro-ject.

Ms Nicolau said submissions varied each year, with past winners including documentaries about skateboarding, a local restaurant and an artist.

“This is a great start for a film-maker’s portfolio,” she said.

Submissions close on Novem-ber 1. Competition details and guidelines are at www.revelation-filmfest.org/city-of-vincent-film-project.
