NOM­I­NA­TIONS are now open for the 2018 Com­mu­nity Ci­ti­zen of the Year Awards. The awards rep­re­sent a great op­por­tu­nity for peo­ple from across the City of Bayswa­ter to get in­volved and put for­ward the names of those who have made a pos­i­tive con­tri­bu­tion to their lo­cal com­mu­nity. The awards are in­tended to recog­nise in­di­vid­u­als and groups that have made a no­table con­tri­bu­tion over the last year to their com­mu­nity, as well as those who have pro­vided out­stand­ing ser­vice over a num­ber of years. For 2018, nom­i­na­tions can be made in four cat­e­gories, in­clud­ing: Com­mu­nity Ci­ti­zen of the Year; Com­mu­nity Ci­ti­zen of the Year - Youth (un­der 25); Com­mu­nity Ci­ti­zen of the Year - Se­nior (65 and over); and the Ac­tive Ci­ti­zen­ship Award for a com­mu­nity group or event. Nom­i­nat­ing a de­serv­ing in­di­vid­ual or group for the 2018 Aus­tralia Day Awards is easy. Nom­i­na­tions close on Tues­day, 31 Oc­to­ber 2017 and re­cip­i­ents of the awards are an­nounced on Aus­tralia Day.
