Red carpet premiere for Jovcic

Guardian Express - - NEWS -

AFTER 10 years of appearing in short films, award-winning Perth actor Jack Jovcic has scored his first lead role in a feature film.

He plays Jovan, an eastern European gangster turned orthodox priest in WA-made Hidden Light, about three men whose lives converge after a tragic event.

The film will have a red carpet premiere at Luna Leederville on October 15. Jovcic said he and writer/director Aaron Kamp, from Ashby, had been collaborating on the film since 2013.

“It is a wholly WA-made film with a European and American flavour,” he said.

“I had some nerves because it was

my first lead role but I have worked with Aaron before so on the set there was a sense of ease.”

Kamp said just weeks after the film premieres, he will take it to the US in November to find distribution in the overseas market.
