IT will be great to play at Optus Stadium against the Pies in the first final at the new stadium and it looks like it will be in front of a record crowd for a sporting fixture in WA.

After a week between the last qualifying game against Brisbane where we had a pretty light schedule on the track, we’ll ramp it up this week and build towards Saturday night.

At this time of the year, the interest and scrutiny around the AFL gets amped up even further than it does during the rest of the year. As a player, you notice it; everywhere you go people are talking about the football and the possibilities.

The best eight teams in the competition have qualified for finals, so every game is going to be a challenge. We start against Collingwood at Optus Stadium on Saturday night and we’re really looking forward to it.

We will need to be at our best because they are a quality team and finished third after the home and away season.

It’s great to see our fans so excited about our opportunity but so far all we have done is tick off one important box. It’s going to be a big occasion and we’ll be up for the challenge.
