Some­times when the har­mony of a song shifts around, the best role to take is a ‘com­mon de­nom­i­na­tor’ ap­proach, us­ing notes that are com­mon to the dif­fer­ent chords. It also means you cre­ate a hook for lis­ten­ers to latch onto. So here I’ve used just three notes (A Bb and B) played in oc­taves with a Ronny style rhythm to ‘glue’ the changes to­gether.. There’s a cer­tain Zen qual­ity to this: max­imis­ing re­sults through min­i­mum move­ment!
