A new tu­ition book- plus- CD pack­age from reg­u­lar Gui­tar Tech­niques tu­tor Phil Capone, en­ti­tled Play Bet­ter Gui­tar In 10 Min­utes A Day, aims to of­fer a thor­ough an­swer to the most com­mon ques­tions asked by stu­dents of the gui­tar: namely, how of­ten should I prac­tise, and what should I work on?

The book be­gins with 63 sep­a­rate ex­er­cises that cover the ba­sics of tech­nique ( in­clud­ing a mul­ti­tude of use­ful ex­am­ples across both rhythm and lead styles), with au­dio ex­am­ples on the ac­com­pa­ny­ing CD. From here, it moves on to a se­ries of tai­lored prac­tice ses­sions made up of short ex­er­cises that add up to in­di­vid­ual 10- minute ‘ work­outs’. Or­gan­ise your prac­tice ses­sions around these work­outs, the the­ory goes, and you should be­gin to no­tice real im­prove­ments in your play­ing in a mat­ter of weeks.
