Uni­son bends were a favourite Jimi trick, and helped add va­ri­ety and full­ness to his lead play­ing. Bend the third string up and fret the same pitch on the sec­ond string. If you add fin­ger vi­brato to the bent string, an eerie ef­fect is pro­duced – great for beef­ing up a lead melody.
