Example 1b shows how these four voices translate to the guitar. They fit surprisingly well, and could go some way to explaining why the guitar and voice go so well together. The lowest note of the Bass range is the lowest on the guitar, and the very highest Soprano note is a top A on the guitar (17th fret on the first string). Note that the guitar actually sounds an octave higher than written, and that’s why the top line of Example 1a and 1b differ.
