HOW DO I PROGRESS?

I’ve reached a stage in my play­ing where I’m re­ally not sure how to get bet­ter, or in­deed if I have the abil­ity to do so. Like, I’d sus­pect, many of your read­er­ship, I’m in my 40s and have been play­ing bluesy, rocky, poppy stuff for 10 years or so. I’ve got a pretty good han­dle on the­ory (thanks to bril­liant guys like Phil, Shaun, Pete Cal­lard and, in days past, Guthrie and Dave Kilmin­ster) and I can find my way around the neck okay. I’m in a half-de­cent band do­ing cov­ers, but we write and play a few orig­i­nals for fun too, so I should be more than happy.
