Example 19

Guitar Techniques - - Play: Soloing -

Good vocalists are a great source of inspiration for adding emotion to your lead style. Just think of players like Jeff Beck, Derek Trucks or Neal Schon who have all incorporated vocal style phrasing into their lead playing. Vocalists like to swoop from one note to the next and this example uses a scream-like ascending bend in the third bar. The wah-wah pedal also helps to create vowel-like vocal sounds.
