Brid­get Mer­mikides re­vis­its the work of com­poser Erik Satie for a look at another in his Gymno­pe­die se­ries of beau­ti­ful works for pi­ano, ar­ranged here for solo gui­tar.

rhythm, th­ese pieces have en­chanted count­less lis­ten­ers for more than a cen­tury, in­clud­ing the great com­poser De­bussy, who was so taken with them that he de­cided to ar­range them for orches­tra.

The cen­tral piece, Gymnopédie No.2 is in fact the least well-known of the set, and is not per­formed (or used in TV and film) nearly as much as the other two Gymnopédies, or his three Gnossi­ennes. How­ever, it is very much a part of the set with its char­ac­ter­is­tic 3/4
